Hello Grade 7 students, parents and guardians,
These are not normal times, yet our Grade 7s deserve to have a celebration. Our preliminary plans are as follows:
We would like to have an outdoor picnic on our school field during the last week of school. We would have pylons arranged where families could set up a blanket to sit on respecting social distancing. Due to the no more than 50 people gathering rule we may have to celebrate in two groupings depending on the number of students and their families that will opt to participate. In the event there are two groupings, each celebration will be an hour in length. Each Grade 7 student will be able to have two (2) family members participate.
Please reply to this email or call me as soon as possible to let me know whether you are interested in attending a celebration with your child at the school on Monday, June 22nd starting at 11:30 am. If it is raining, we would move the event to Tuesday, June 23rd. Wearing PPE is optional and will not be provided by the school.
Any interested parents who would like to offer some assistance and suggestions please call Ms. Campbell at 250-842-5777 or my cell 778-202-0228. You could also email at alison.campbell@cmsd.bc.ca
Typically, the students would have fundraised for hoodies and items for their celebration. We are suggesting that due to the current circumstances students wait until September to order a hoodie from the high school.
